In the Room
My self and my partner stayed for two nights during the week, it was a lovely place and surroundings in ambleside. A perfect get away for a few nights relaxing in the hotel and spa provided.
Enjoyed the stay in the hotel, but we were slightly disapointed when we realised the hotel room that we stayed in was more like a small appartment set away from the main hotel. As the room was very comfortable, we would of liked the website to give you more info on the signature rooms and to inform you that they are not situated in the main hotel.
Access to the walks of the Lakes. The fact that the spa was available on site and there were two adjacent pubs for relaxation.
The staf were not particularly helpful in sorting out very obvious complaints.
this was our third visit and everything was excellent,
we did think the food was not as good as normal esp the lunch snacks in the bar of the hotel. wainwrights was excellent,we had two evening meals out of four there.
excellent midweek break - highly recomended
The room was very comfortable and the service efficient, the location was outstanding. The television was a plus.
Our room was dark and light was limited. We could not use the bath plug. Real milk would have been nice for drinks. Very noisy during afternoon and early evening moving other guests and luggage in, not at all peaceful! Were left with damp towels from one day to the next.
rooms excellent, breakfast excellent, liked the standard of the facilities, and the staff were all friendly and professional
the location was stunning-excellent restuarant on site
Not a dislike- just that the swimming pool/spa facilities were out of use for refurbishment- and although stated on Booked.net website- I didn't see this until i'd booked as it was down at the bottom of the page.
We had a great time, the hotel was just what we wanted for us,a new couple giong away for the first time. We found our room very comfortable, relaxing and very enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, having the choice of 3 restraunts was exciting.
Scenic location, nice pool, comfortable bedroom and bed.
Restaurants had limited menus of indifferent quality. Outside areas very badly lit and inadequate pedestrian walkways. Parking a nightmare due to inadequate lighting and inadquate space to manoeuvre in and out of spaces. Further disruption due to building work.
The location was very good with many walks to choose from. The room was decorated to a high standard and was comfortable and clean. The nearby Wainwrights Inn was excellent.
The short walk from our room to the main reception and spa was very dark and needed more street lights. There was nowhere to purchase drinks and snacks for the room.
Once again a great stay (except for the rain) and a great quiet room
The hotel is set in a great location and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast is really good.
There was not enough tomato ketchup in the mornings and the showers are not very powerful.
From the moment we stepped inside the Langdale Hotel & Spa we knew we were in for a very special experience. The welcoming smile from the reception staff, the lovely room we were shown and the spa facilities were second to none, we had a fabulous time.
Clean, comfortable, excellent bathroom, excellent dining room.
Sunday morning breakfast was a problem for the hotel as they were unable to cope with 80 guests arriving at the same time. This caused long delays when the kitchen staff twice ran out of cooked food. In fairness when we returned to the restaurant for dinner the hotel gave us a free bottle of wine apologizing for the breakfast problems.
It was in a great location. We were able to go into the fells or along scenic rivers within minutes. The room was spotless and had all we required. The breakfast could not be faulted and the staff attentive and friendly.
It was a surprise that the rooms were in a different building than the hotel. It was not a big problem and big umbrellas provided. Glad we did not need them.
